Hi, I’m Jai.

Hi, I’m Jai.

I'm a product designer from Brisbane Australia, where I've recently began working on a fitness app for some of the biggest Australian fitness brands after spending the last six years at Josephmark, a world renowned product ventures studio.

My definition of a ‘Product Designer’ is:

My definition of a ‘Product Designer’ is:

A ‘specialist generalist’. Someone who enjoys working end-to-end across the process of envisioning, defining, designing and delivering digital products, often with a deeper knowledge in one or more specific areas within that process.

That’s absolutely biased though, because that’s exactly how I describe myself.

I love to break down silos, and get my hands dirty in the whole process of designing, building, and managing great products, whether that’s taking a product concept from zero to one, or attempting to take it from one to infinity.

Product strategy, interaction, prototyping and UI design are my areas of deeper knowledge (and competence). However, I’m also constantly trying to broaden my understanding into adjacent areas, such as: business modelling and strategy; product growth strategy; product metrics/analytics; behavioural psychology/economics; user research; and the more technical engineering side of actually developing products (#designersshouldlearncode #butonlyiftheywantto).

I have a near-insatiable curiosity, which can balance a thin line between blessing and curse, but I feel extremely privileged and lucky to have found a career that not only allows me to constantly feed it, but actually benefits from it.

Thanks for checking out my site. If you’ve read this far, please say hello. I'd really appreciate your feedback, and I'm always keen to meet new people and to chat about design, online or IRL.
